A Visit from Santa
Last week Vickie brought Santa to our house to give Kylee a few early Christmas gifts. Kylee was so excited when she saw them pull up in the driveway, but as soon as Santa walked in the house she was terrified. She screamed, cried, and clung to my neck. However, after opening a few gifts she got the courage to sit next to Santa. She was so excited after they left and talked about Santa bringing her a vacuum all afternoon. She also got a wooden flute and percussion toy, a monkey backpack, and a hello kitty helmet and knee pads.

December Photos - Chapter 1
As soon as Thanksgiving ended, so did our beautiful fall weather. Consequently, Kylee and I have been spending a lot more time indoors. Here are some pictures from this month so far. There were more, but I lost them when my computer crashed last week.
Meeting Santa
Last Wednesday we went to the FOP Christmas party. We all had a great time, and Kylee had a blast running around with the other kids. This was Kylee's first Christmas event of the season and her first encounter with Santa this year. She was super excited that he was there...until it was her turn to sit on his lap. She was brave and sat there for a few seconds, but it was obvious that she was not happy about it.
Saturday we went to the Christmas party for Robert's National Guard unit. Kylee picked out her dress for the party. She acted excited about getting to see Santa again and was very proud that her dress matched his suit. Once Santa arrived, she quickly changed her mind. She wanted nothing to do with Santa and was not at all impressed with his "toothpaste candy".
Green Eggs and Ham
For the past few months one of Kylee's favorite books has been Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. I had a video clip of Kylee retelling the story that I have been meaning to post. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed, and the video is gone.
A couple weeks ago, Kylee helped me make green eggs and ham for lunch. I tired to get a picture of her with our creation before I cut it up, but I guess all the cooking made her too hungry to pose.
I wish I would have set my camera on video, because when I asked Kylee if she liked them she answered "I do! I like them......I like them Sam I Am."

O Christmas Tree!
Sunday afternoon Kylee and I were in her room reading books to each other when we heard daddy opening something in the living room. We ran in to see what he was up to, and to our surprise, he was putting up the Christmas tree. Kylee knew exactly what it was. She got really excited, ran back to her room, and returned with her "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" book. When Robert plugged in tree (it has the lights built in) Kylee's eyes lit up. She got the biggest smile on her face and exclaimed "pretty lights! I love lights!". She was excited about the ornaments at first, but after helping me hang a few she lost interest. Here are a few pictures of Kylee and daddy putting the star on top. She loved that.

March Daddy March!
Friday morning when daddy got back from the gym, he decided to go on a ruk march. I suggested that he try out the backpack carrier and strap on Kylee instead of his ruk sack. He did, and she loved it! They circled the neighborhood a few times, but Kylee still wanted to go some more. So, per Kylee's request, daddy marked 2 miles down 67th street to grandpa's house.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR_rG54WGUqrlxprIFNmHFNMihhTw3jmP_cDvSTudmG4vOuh8KR1hXKGjajjdi2gwu9OlJqvN4w-FqU-ewaybXls4D-jgBp6BZPzZTE6zeiU8vFVWZICZUeVENaGx7Ub4Sgv6OiO0kiuo/s400/td76.JPG)
Thanksgiving 2009
This year we started off the Thanksgiving festivities at Aunt Patty and Uncle Mike's house where we hang out with grandma's side of the family and ate a delicious feast made mostly by grandma. Kylee ate quickly and then spent most of the time outside playing with the dogs and enjoying the beautiful fall weather.

Next we went to Grandpa and Nana Laura's house. Kylee was very excited to meet Uncle Tony's baby cousin, Mya. She sat and watched Mya for awhile and then gave her a great big hug and exclaimed "my baby sister!" Kylee had a blast playing hide and seek with Tony and, of course, playing outside.

We went home so that Kylee could nap and daddy could go to work. Then Kylee and I went over to grandma's house for dessert and round 2 of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. We ate a ton and came home with several containers of leftovers. Yum! We spent the rest of the weekend at home in our pajamas (most of it anyway).
Turkey Day Crafts
Last week we used finger paint and construction paper to make hand print turkey place mats.
Wednesday evening we used Kylee's hand prints to make turkey sugar cookies. We only ended up making a few turkeys (kylee liked playing in the dough a little too much). I just cut the rest into circles and let Kylee paint them with icing. First she painted an orange cookie for Aunt Michelle and then a purple cookie for grandma. She didn't specify who the rest were for.
