So Long September

I can't believe September is already over! The months keep going by faster and faster. I didn't update the blog as often as I should have this month. Besides the zoo and the international festival, we've actually been up to quite a bit.
Earlier this month Gracie and her mom came over. The girls helped make mini pizzas for dinner and then played together in the backyard. We also went to a finger painting playdate at Charli's house, played at Annastazia's a couple times, met friends at the park a few times, went to the Comanche County Free fair, attended a group playdate at Brianna's, visited the refuge a time or two, and did quite a bit of babysitting.

I've also been slacking when it comes to both taking and uploading pictures. I'll try to do a better job next month.

International Festival

Saturday morning we met daddy at the International Festival. Kylee really enjoyed watching the clog dancers. She danced along with them and asked for more after each dance. That night we went back with Auntie Vickie. Kylee had a blast eating, watching the Polynesian dancers, listening to the Maren Morris band, and exploring the children's area. She even got to play in a firetruck. We were there 3 1/2 hours, and she still wasn't ready go!
Sunday afternoon grandma took us back for lunch and to see the turtles. Once again Kylee had a great time and did not want to leave.

Zoo Trip

Thursday we drove through the pouring rain to go the zoo. The trip up was a little scary, but it was worth it. By the time we got there, the weather was awesome, and all the animals were out. The zoo was practically empty. So, we were able to let Kylee get out of the stroller and walk on her own. She loved it! She had a blast walking, skipping, splashing in the puddles, and chasing squirrels.
She wasn't at all interested in the lions, tigers, or bears, but she was very excited to see the giraffes, fox, turkeys, and rhinos. She also loved riding the tram. I thought the ride was long, but she was ready to go some more. It took a lot of convincing and the promise of seeing monkeys to get her off.

Kylee talked about monkeys all morning. She seemed really hyped about going to see them. When we got to the exhibit, she seemed slightly impressed with the monkeys but was way more excited about the gorilla statues than she was about about any of the live primates.

I think its safe to say Kylee had almost as much fun as I did at the zoo. I can't wait to take her back!

Dancing Queen

Kylee loves to sing and dance. She seems to be getting more and more into music everyday. I absolutely love listening to her sing. Her favorite to song right now is Old McDonald, but she also loves singing the bathtub song (transition song for getting out of the tub), 5 Little Monkeys, Apples and Bananas, and just about any song she's ever heard on Yo Gabba Gabba.

She dances all the time. Anytime she hears any kind of music, she dances. She even dances to the sound of locus singing outside and sometimes dances when there's no music at all.

Morning at Charli's

Monday morning Kylee stayed at Rikki and Charli's house while I went to a doctors appointment. This was only her 2nd time to play at a friends house without me. She threw a fit when I left, but from what I hear, she did pretty well after that. She hung out with her BFF, played outside, watched a sing along, ate chicken, and even got a pedicure!
She is so proud of her painted toes! The first thing she did when she saw daddy was show him her toes. Its been a few days, and she's still talking about Rikki painting her toes!
***Pictures coming soon****

"I go look"

I'm not sure when I lost Kylee's trust, but she now has to check for herself whenever wants something we are out of. Anytime she asks for something (usually food items), and I tell her we don't have it she responds with "I go look", and she does just that. She checks both the refrigerator and pantry for whatever item she is asking for.
Kylee doesn't always speak in full sentences, but she is using them more and more. It seems like her vocabulary has just exploded lately. I've completely lost track of the words she knows (too many to count at this point). She knows all of the major zoo and farm animals and lots of other animals (buffalo, raccoon, dolphin, octopus, bat, etc). She also knows tons of body parts, even the tricky ones like ankle and wrist. I love listening to her talk. Today she told me "I see a itty bitty tiny bug."

Potty Time???

A few days ago Kylee picked up her potty chair (which was in the bathroom collecting dust), carried it into the living room, and announced "I go pee pee!" I'm hopefully wondering if this is her way of telling me she's ready to start potty training. This week has been kind of hectic, and next week is going to be pretty busy for us as well. So, I think I'm going to wait until the following week to start our first official potty training attempt. I'm not in a big hurry to potty train, but I do hope to have her out of diapers by the spring. Wish us luck! :)

Silly Girl

Here are a couple videos of Kylee from last week....nothing major, just her being her silly self

Rocking out to her music box

the giggles

Kylee has been quite the comedian lately. Sometimes she is just being her natural goofy self. Sometimes she purposely does things just to make me laugh. Thanks to Yo Gabba Gabba, she even has a "funny face" that she does. She is such a ham!
