Zoo Trip

Earlier this month grandma took us to the zoo. Aprill, her son Dylan, and her mom met us there. Everyone had a great time. I still can't believe that we were there 5 hours and didn't even make it to the tram, the aquarium, or the petting zoo.

Kylee was very proud of her animal print dress and was super excited that she and the big tiger "matched together", especially when the crowd of kids watching the tiger starting talking about how cool her dress was.

State Fair

Last month Grandma and Aunt Michelle took us to the State Fair in OKC. Kylee had a blast!! It was worth the drive up there just to see the smile on her face when she got to ride a camel. I don't know that I've ever seen such a glow! The camel and pony rides were the highlight of the day.

She also enjoyed walking through the stock show area and looking at all the show animals in their pens. Kylee, in her cowgirl outfit, was a big hit in this area. Here she is strutting her stuff down a hall of Clydesdales.

Petting Zoo

Last month we went to the petting zoo at the coliseum. The first time we tried going there were swarms of unruly PreK-ers. It was so chaotic; even the clown was stressed out and rude. We tried again a few days later and a had great change of luck. The place was practically empty. The clown was friendly (ish), and Kylee and Gavin even got to get in the pen with donkey and llama. Thanks to Joanne for the pics!

Playing Catch Up

I am sooooooo behind on blog updates. My goal is to remedy that by the end of the week. Here are some pictures of Kylee goofing off with Auntie Vickie way back at the beginning of September.

Vickie has been super busy with nursing school. We don't get to see her nearly as often as we'd like.

1st Slumber Party!

Saturday night Robert invited a couple guys over to watch a UFC fight. I didn't want Kylee around all the violence; so, we had a slumber party at the Woosley's house. The girls popped bubbles. Then the babies went to bed while Kylee and Carrie stayed up to have a tea party, play on the trampoline, and watch Sleeping Beauty. We had a blast!

"I can do it myself!"

When Kylee wears panties she likes to put them on all by herself. She is very proud of herself for doing so (even though she doesn't always get them exactly right).

Visiting Michael Jackson (D.D.S.)

This afternoon I took Kylee for her 2nd dental check up. We got there early and spent about 30 minutes in the waiting room. Kylee did amazing! There were 2 older kiddos (early primary age) that were being a little ornery, but Kylee was a complete angel. I was so proud of her! When hygienist came out and called her name, Kylee hopped down from the chair, put her book back on the shelf, grabbed her hand, smiled and sweetly said "Hi lady! I'm Kylee. I'm ready for my turn." She climbed right up into the big chair. She happily agreed to wear the big, heavy x-ray apron and was even super cooperative as the hygienist tried 4 times to squeeze the film into her tiny mouth. The film made her gag, and she politely said "Excuse me. I'm going to choke." At this point, I was pretty well beaming with pride over how well behaved she had been. The hygienist gave up on the x-rays and showed Kylee all of the special cleaning tools she was going to use. Thats when the silliness began. Kylee suddenly became 'Isaac' (who apparently doesn't need to brush his teeth) and insisted that she needed to slide down the chair (which I have to admit is shaped very slide-like). She acted very goofy and absolutely refused to sit still or to open her mouth. Very frustrating. They were unable to do any cleaning, not even with a regular toothbrush. :(
Kylee was a little more cooperative when the dentist came in. She cried a little during the 2 minute exam but she at least sat still and opened her mouth. Dr. Jackson reported that she has all of her baby teeth and that none have any visible decay. Unfortunately, he can't tell for sure if she's cavity - free without x-rays.

Bug vs. Bug

Poor Kyleebug does not react well to insect bites. This weekend something got her right below the eye.
Day 1 (AM): A little puffy

Day 1 (PM): Starting to swell

Day 2: Time for a shot :(

Day 3: much better already

Sock Puppets

I finally gave up on finding the missing matches to all of Kylee's socks. Yesterday we made sock puppets.
Our sock family. The 2 in the middle are Kylee creations. The ones on the ends were teamwork.

googely eye monster: "grrrr"

Hail to the Princess!

Kylee has become obsessed with Disney princess movies. Sleeping Beauty is obviously her favorite as we watch it at least once (usually 2 or 3 times) a day. Snow White and Cinderella are close seconds. She also likes Beauty and the Beast. She has no interest in any Disney movie that doesn't involve a castle and a princess.

Kylee loves to make me replay the ending scene of Sleeping Beauty so that she can dance with them. I usually dance with her. She has also entered the dress up phase. Fun! I'm dying to buy her more dress up stuff! I can't wait for December! She has informed me that she is having a birthday party in a castle and that Snow White is coming. Maybe its a good thing that we have 5 more months.
