Iced In

The past couple days we've had some yucky winter weather. Yesterday it was so icy that all the local schools and daycares were closed. Of course that meant all our playdates were cancelled too. We weren't thrilled about being stuck home, but we tried to make the best of it. I got out some of Kylee's CDs that we hadn't listened to in awhile, and we spent most the morning standing at the backdoor watching the ice fall down and the birds fly around while listening to music in our PJs. There were all sorts of birds flying in, out, and around the yard. It made for quite the show. Kylee and I were very amused.

Since Kylee loves broccoli and loves cheese, I decided to combine the two and try out a new Broccoli Cheese soup recipe for lunch. Cold weather always puts me in the mood for soup. Kylee provided the dinner music while I cooked.

Kylee loved the soup and did an awesome job feeding herself with a spoon. She must have had fun doing so, because she had a death grip on her spoon and refused to put it down. I ended up carrying her to bathroom and rinsing both her and her spoon off in the sink. She held onto the spoon for quite some time before eventually depositing it into her treasure box (diaper wipe box previously mentioned).
