Kyleepalooza

Saturday was Kylee's big day - her 1st birthday party. That morning was crazy. It was one of those mornings that make you wish you could get back in bed and start again. Among other things... Kylee's nap schedule was all off, the pump for the ball pit broke, the birthday banner vanished into thin air, and the dogs ran away. I was in a total state of panic for awhile and worried that the party (if we even made it to the Recplex to have one) would be a complete disaster. Thankfully, everything turned out OK in the end. The dogs eventually came home on their own (after about an hour of us looking for them!). Kylee finally took a short nap, and daddy and grandma rushed to get the party set up just in the nick of time. Needless to say, the party wasn't exactly as I had imagined, but the important thing is everyone, including Kylee, seemed to have a good time.
The ball pit was definitely a big hit; so were the chicken nuggets. The cake was AMAZING! Auntie Vickie and Danielle did an incredible job.
The big cake smash ended up being more of a cake poke. Kylee poked at the icing a couple times, picked off a few of the decorations, and then pretty much lost interest in the cake all together. She decided to wait until we got into the car and she saw the cake on my lap before she tried to dig in.
I think Kylee's favorite part of the day was hanging out with her beau, Ethan. Ethan's awesome parents stayed and helped clean up after the party. While everyone else was cleaning, Ethan and Kylee had a blast giving each other kisses and playing with her car.
